Why I Love Limousin
Art Courses
Art Courses are held for beginners and improvers in small groups, and led by tutor and host Barbara Walton, who is an experienced, professional artistsand qualified teacher. The projects are designed to teach key aspects of painting and drawing on each day, however the size of the group ensures that individual tuition can be given to each student according to their needs.
Tuition is always flexible.
Accommodation will be at Les Trois Chênes and other local Bed and Breakfasts. We will organise all transport between your B&B and Les Trois Chênes.
PAINTING Courses - By Barbara Walton
Learn to Paint in France
Six days of tuition are offered,and the course begins on the day after arrival. A typical day starts at 10am with two hours of tuition at Les Trois Chenes before lunch, and three hours after lunch sketching in the towns, villages or countryside around. One day, however, we organise a day trip including lunch and if you would like a rest from painting students are quite free to simply enjoy the visit.
The tutors will be available in the evenings and there will be time to discuss the day’s work over aperitifs before dinner.
Normally painting sessions will be undertaken outdoors on the farm or places of local interest, and a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art at Rochechouart Château is included. Day outings and visits are organised to some of the many attractions in Limousin, the Charente and the Dordogne. Two of the villages included in the list of the most beautiful villages in France, Brantôme and Mortemart are within travelling distance of Videix.

You are very welcome to join our residential classes for the day. The cost of this is 50 euros for 5 hours tuition and includes all refreshments bought outside the house and entry fees that are part of the course. You can join us for the whole week or you can choose one or more days.
Join our sketch club
Thursday afternoon is sketching club. Bring a sketch book and materials and we will go out and about for the afternoon, normally 2.30 - 4.30pm for only 10 euros a session and includes tea and chat afterwards.
