Portrait of Steven 2009 Oil on Canvas
The paintings shown on this page represent selections from work as Artist in Residence in Italy and the Lake District, England, as well as some portraits, personal and commissioned. I work in a range of media, drawing in pencil, charcoal and ink, mixed media on paper, oil or acrylic on canvas and, although I have not shown any examples below, pastel and watercolour.
Each media has its own charm and there are many different ways to use them. Drawing and painting is a never-ending, exciting exploration, and , remember, there are very few rules in art, and almost all rules are there to be broken!
